Board Certified Behavior Analyst Supervision

                                  BOARD CERTIFIED BEHAVIOR ANALYST SUPERVISION

The need for well-trained, well-supervised behavior analysts is rising. With
the growth of on-line graduate BCBA courses, the need for distance
supervision services has increased as well.

Dr. Martinez can help you meet your Supervised Independent Fieldwork
requirements to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Board
                                           Certified Associate Behavior Analyst.

The Behavior Analysis Certification Board (BACB) regulations allow distance supervision. A candidate’s applied behavior analysis sessions can be videotaped or observed on web-camera, and telephone and email supervision is acceptable.

To view  the BACB New Experience Standards and Supervised Experience please visit the BACB website.

The BACB requirements may be fulfilled via 3 different categories:

• 1) Supervised Independent Fieldwork
• 2) Practicum
• 3) Intensive Practicum

RCM Notebook offers the first option. If you need “Supervised Independent Fieldwork” please contact Dr. Rosa C. Martinez at RCMPHD1@verizon.net or go to the BACB certificant registry

The Supervised Independent Supervision may be fulfilled either locally or via distance supervision….
It is always preferable that you locate a local BCBA as your supervisor, however since that is not always possible, a distance supervision can be granted. As technology continues to become enhanced, video recording is made easier, and distance supervision can better approximate in situ. Of course, having a BCBA that can come on site with you will allow for a much better supervisory experience. However, if you cannot find an experienced BCBA locally, then distance supervision is a great option that is now allowing applicants get supervised worldwide and qualify for behavior analyst certification.

For distance supervision:

The candidate will:

Video tape themselves working with clients
Meet up with supervisor (options via  phone calls, video conferencing, or a combination) and
          discuss clients, cases, and strategies
Complete assignments/directives to accomplish competency of task list items

The supervisor will:

Provide you with training/exercises and competency checks for each item on the BACB task                list
Observe these and check off demonstration of competencies

Thus by the end of the supervision, you would have documentation that you are competent in all areas of the task list. For further information and supervision rates contact Dr. Martinez  RCMPHD1@verizon.net
